Terms and Conditions
The basic rules
The Language Chain is not a dating agency, and anyone who treats TLC like a dating agency will be immediately removed from the Chain.
As in any teacher/student situation, sometimes you will meet people you really like, and sometimes you will meet people you do not like. It is your duty as a teacher, and a student, to treat everyone equally and concentrate on the reason for the Meetup, which is to learn more of the language you are studying and teach more of your native language. You may find it difficult in the beginning, but as you meet people with more experience of the Language Chain you will also learn how to learn better, how to teach better, and how to get on with people you have never met better.
Do not ask personal information
You do not even have to give your name if you do not want to, on the other hand you can say as much as you like about yourself. You cannot ask your partner to give ANY personal information - if you upset your partner in any way, even if it was unintentional, this will be reported and you will be removed from The Language Chain.
Share the learning and teaching equally
Meetups usually last an hour, so you can split it into two parts - you converse in the language you are learning for half an hour while your partner corrects you, then your partner talks and you correct for half an hour. If either of you is a beginner it may be better to separate into 15 minute sessions.
Try to keep the Meetup to an hour, even if you find it difficult, over time you will get used to it. Do not insist on continuing beyond an hour even if you are really enjoying it. If you pressure your partner in any way this is considered abuse of the Terms and Conditions.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE LANGUAGE CHAIN WE WILL NOT GIVE YOU ANY MEETUPS
